More Surgery ThursdayViews: 430

Just got word today that I have to go in Thursday afternoon and have a large squamous cell cancer removed from my neck. I’m really sick and tired of having chunks of my body cut out. I am very fortunate the melanoma was not on my face. The incision is huge and has 26 external sutures and just about as many internal.

Tomorrow at 11:15 I will find out if the melanoma has spread to my lymph system. I’m sure everything will be fine. Just fine.

I haven’t figured out how to respond to comments on my blog, so I just thought I’d respond to you here. I really related to your comment about having pieces of you cut out – when my Onc suggested taking out my ovary, I just about lost it! There’s a point where it just becomes overwhelming, but also a point where you just want to get the crud out of you I think. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending all my best thoughts.
